This is a question we hear, almost daily.
There are a couple of rules of thumb to be applied to this question.
- Anyone that promises they can get your site to #1 on all search engines, is not being truthful.
- Anyone that wants you to pay them to get your site to #1 on a search engine is ripping you off.
- Any software that promises to get your site in the top spot of search engines is fraudulent.
With this in mind, there are a few other items that must be taken into consideration.
- Not all search engines work the same.
- What works well for one, may cause another to ignore you.
- Exhaustive effort to create the highest ranking page can often be wasted, because of rule #1.
By simply doing what you do, and doing it well, you will be noticed by search engines, and in time, they will come to rely on your site for valuable content, and useful information.
A search engine such as Google, mathematically calculates a complicated number of factors to determine where it places your site on the results page. However, excessive repetition of a word or phrase will cause Google to ignore your site.
Attempting to force a high page rank in some search engines will actually do more harm than good.
Having valuable content, a unique product or service, and fresh information will soon have your site at the top of the lists. Just don't get impatient.
